WA Ombudsman Chris Field will pay his own way to conference in Italy, just months after CCC probe into travel

WA’s beleaguered integrity watchdog, who took leave amid a corruption probe into his global travels, has been promoting his attendance at another international event that he plans to attend in his professional capacity.

Chris Field has been WA’s Ombudsman, handling complaints about the public service, for more than 17 years.

But it’s a four-year period of that term which caught the attention of the Corruption and Crime Commission, as he jetted across the world while also serving as the president of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI).
